Taking a cruise is unlike any other vacation. If you are unfortunate enough to suffer with travel sickness whilst on dry land, then you may want to make sure that you pack a suitable Motion Sickness Treatment, as these are likely to cost you much more if you buy them while on the cruise ship.  Having said that, most people to not get ill because of the gentle motion of the ship, but if the weather gets rough you may well feel slightly queasy, and it is best to be prepared!

A really great perk with a cruising vacation is all of the fascinating places that you can visit. While you are sleeping, the ship continues on it's journey, moving to an exciting destination for you to visit when you wake up.

Cruise ships tend to offer 'all-inclusive'  cruises, but don't let this fool you into thinking that you will not need to take much extra money.  You will be expected to tip the staff who clean your cabin for you, there are slot machines just begging for your money, and there are always little things on board the ship that you will end up spending money on.  You will always want some money available to take with you when you go ashore, even if it is just to buy yourself little mementos.

Food is a huge part of the cruising lifestyle with people eating at unusual times, and food is available everywhere all the time. If you wanted to, you could eat a full three or four course meal at midnight!  Seasoned cruisers know that the midnight buffet is often the best part of the day.  If you suffer with a weight problem, try and put this on hold during your cruising vacation, but if you are really worried then take part in the activities that will be provided on deck, go swimming (there is usually a pool), and most of all do not worry about losing weight until you are back home again, fully relaxed from your beautiful cruise vacation.

The cabin's which are provided as your accommodation for your cruise as quite small, so you will find that everything is compact.  Fitted furniture is the norm, so that it does not move around if the ship hits a storm.  The bathrooms on a cruise ship are very similar in design to the bathrooms on an airplane.  There are no real windows that you can open and close on the ship, but the air will not feel stale, it will remain clean and fresh. You could of course pay more, and have the luxury of a balcony cabin.
